21. The PDN-44-1200 was designed to provide the heavy, abrasive oil lifting capabilities of the progressive cavity pumps with the simplicity and dependability of conventional plunger type pumps. This design principal provides the following advantages: · The PDN is powered by a conventional beam pump jack that is less costly and more reliable than surface hydraulic power units. · The PDN has been shown to pump heavy, viscous oil that conventional plunger pumps were not able to lift. · The PDN has been shown to operate for one full year without any needed repairs. This time frame is two to four times longer than progressive cavity pumps. · When repairs are needed, the PDN only requires a few inexpensive replacement parts. Progressive cavity pumps require the replacement of the rotor and stator which is almost as expensive as a new pump. · The PDN generates a high amount of suction turbulence at the pump suction area.
