2 EBT and Technology Update
The National EBT status 2014 Technology Funding Decisions: Round I EBT: Planning and Implementation MIS: SAM, Planning and Implementation SAM PMO Support Round II NUPC I will cover these areas briefly in today's presentation.

3 The National EBT Status
As of July, 2014, 13 State agencies are Statewide EBT; 26 State agencies in Implementation: 2 States began pilot this month; OH and MA 31 State agencies in various stages of planning for EBT As of June, 2014 – Only 20 State agencies without EBT Activity. -with VA being the newest state to be EBT statewide with Crossroads, there are now 13 WIC State agencies with EBT. WV started their rollout May 5 and will complete their rollout of Crossroads with EBT in September -up from last month, we now have 26 States implementing EBT. A state is considering implementing when they have an APPROVED IAPD. Pilot is a phase of implementation and we have 2 more states IN pilot in 2014, MA and OH. Also up from last month, we now have 31 states in the planning phase, Planning phase begins when the SA has submitted a PAPD for review. Along with the PAPD, the planning phase includes writing the IAPD, RFPs as necessary and obtaining project management staff to support the SA EBT efforts. And only 20 state agencies yet to start their EBT activity Please see our WIC EBT Detail Status report on the FNS website for our monthly report on EBT Status.

6 2014 Funding 2014 – Received $30 million Technology and $7 million in infrastructure funding EBT and SAM Transfer to User Group remain the priorities for funding Round I, Round II Past funding can be located here: First round of funding letters went out July 9, after the press release. We are waiting for the signed 529’s, and then they will be fully executed when Lael Lubing signs. A copy will be sent to you as fully executed. Funding will not be given until the 529 is fully executed.

9 State of SAM: WIC MIS SPIRIT SAM MPSC Crossroads SAM
Mississippi and Potawatomi Nation are fully implemented States can consider SPIRIT in SAA* and as a transfer 20 WIC States in the SPIRIT Users Group EBT task force developing Offline EBT and updating to the May 2012 UI MPSC Colorado, Utah and Wyoming (EBT-Offline) are statewide 8 States now in the MPSC Users Group Finalizing their User Group and Governance SOP States can consider MPSC in SAA and as a transfer MPSC member states initiating development of online EBT Crossroads SAM VA is statewide with Crossroads with EBT; WV is currently in Statewide rollout NC and AL are currently in statewide rollout with paper food instruments All statewide rollouts scheduled for completion by fall 2014 CANNOT consider Crossroads in AA until deemed viable and transferrable; FNS memo will provide update *Alternatives Analysis I want to give you an update on where we are with the State Agency Models or SAM Projects. SPIRIT now has 20 states in the Users Group, with the most recent new members of Citizens of Potawatomi Nation, and Mississippi SPIRIT is one of the two SAM’s that can be assessed for a states MIS Systems Alternative Analysis and available for transfer SPIRIT EBT task force is currently in JAD with CDP to develop the offline interface and update SPIRIT to be compliant with the May 2013 UI. MPSC statewide in three consortia states, Wyoming with SmartCard EBT MPSC ESC working with Team Suntiva, are finilzing their User Group, strategic plan, Change control process and charter. Along with SPIRIT, MPSC can also be considered in a states Systems Alternatives Analysis and available for transfer. Crossroads VA is statewide with Crossroads with Online EBT! YEAH! WV started their statewide rollout and will finish in September, with online EBT NC and AL are currently in statewide rollout with paper food instruments Crossroads is not available for states to consider in the AA yet, FNS will be issuing memos to provide Crossroads SAM updates.

10 NUPC Project: KLC continues to add information to the database
Total of 24,457 items, 10,565 items in 19/001. Of the remaining 13,892 items, 7,589 are fully populated, leaving 6,303 items to be finished OIT/NITC are working to create production environment: Task Order in place for transfer OIT/CMD are working to issue an M&E task
