4 PPS&T Conferences – 2009 PPC Status The 2009 Pulsed Power Conference was held June 29 to July 2, 2009 at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel in Washington DC. The Proceedings DVD have been produced and distributed to the registrants. The Conference Organizers have begun the process of closing out the conference budget and accounts. A $10k grant from DTRA for which a PO was issued in 2009 is unaccounted for. The conference is projecting a slight deficit of $17k. The Special Issue of the IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science on Pulsed Power Science and Technology, many of which are enhancements of papers submitted to this conference, was just published in October 2010. The Guest Editors were Larry Altgilbers (US Army Space and Missile Defense Command, Huntsville, AL), Randy Curry (U. Missouri-Columbia), Weihua Jiang (Nagaoka University of Technology, Japan), and Paul Smith (Oxford, United Kingdom). 39 papers appeared in the Special Issue. 4/22

Missouri-Columbia) is the General Chair; Bryan Oliver (Sandia National Laboratories) is the Technical Program Chair; Mark Rader (US Army SMDC) is the Treasurer 2011 will not use TDMG, will use IEEE MCM for complete conference support The loan has been received 6/22

13 PPS&T TCS Conferences – 15 th EML Symposium Special Issue of IEEE TPS will publish papers derived from this symposium. Guest editors are Scott Fish and Harry Fair of IAT, UT Austin. 160 manuscripts have been received and are under review. Approximately 99 papers will be appear in the Special Issue. 16 th EML Symposium Will take place in Beijing, China 2012. An MOU is being prepared. 13/22

20 PPS&T TCS Conferences – 2012 Beams and 4 th Euro-Asian Pulsed Power Conference To be held mid-September 2012 in Karlsruhe, Germany. Dr. Georg Muller of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology will be the General Chair. An MOU for Technical Co-Sponsorship being prepared. 20/22

21 Committee Updates Edl Schamiloglu has completed 3 years as committee Chair. The committee voted unanimously to request that Jane Lehr be appointed as Chair effective 1/2011. We have added two new domestic committee members (Susan Heidger, AFRL and Ravi Joshi, Old Dominion U.) and will add three international committee members (by 15 Dec.). Two members are cycling off (Bryan Oliver and David Price). Our committee will comprise 21 voting members on Dec. 15. A subcommittee is looking into export control issues and how they might impact conferences and publications in the pulsed power and related areas. The Committee’s Constitution and By-Laws are undergoing revision. It will be brought before the Committee in early 2011 for discussion and vote. 21/22
