Benefits & Incentives for employers Lesson learned /Input received Education is provided « for free » and is improving the skills of the employee and provides supplementary experience Employer support will make the reservist “Staying on board” – reducing the turnover cost for the companies Employers support programs can includes benefits itself (network for employers as a channel of information etc.) Argument to go into such programs is also to avoid to face – or the need of providing (further) legal requirements Reduce the risk of loosing competency in organization by providing a pool within the Defense system - skilled people for the civilian employers Compensations schemes are incentives to a certain degree, but some programs will not be possible due to legislation and EU regulations. Recommendation /way ahead : To have Industries/public sectors etc. to understand and acknowledge the argument Take on an active approach from government level to employers (reserve board, Defense systems to make documentary concerning skills developed) Demand heavy communication « top down » - government matters to make support programs. “Enabling NATO Operations Through Effective Employer Support” Argument: The reserves can support organizational strengths and even out the costs within the organization
