2 What is Six Sigma? Six Sigma is the relentless and rigorous pursuit of the reduction of variation in all critical processes to achieve continuous and breakthrough improvement that impact the bottom line and increase customer satisfaction.

3 Six Sigma Goal  To produce goods and/or services at 6  level. Vision  Drive industries to produce and design products/services according to 6  standard. Strategy  Use a data driven approach to achieve 6  level.

6 Champion Champions should take a very active sponsorship and leadership role in conducting and implementing 6  projects. Some of their responsibilities:  Provide an ongoing communication link between project team and executive committee.  Keep the team focused and stayed within budget.  Select a black belt to lead the project team.  Participate in the tollgate review process.

7 Master Black Belt A master black belt takes a leadership role as keeper of the 6  process by leveraging his/her skills with projects that are led by black belts and green belts. Proven change of agent, leader, facilitator, and technical expert in 6 .

8 Black Belt A black belt is a full time change agent and improvement leader who may not be in expert in the process under study. Some of their responsibilities:  Help to prepare a project objective  Communicate with the champion and process owner about progress of the project.  Lead 6  project team.  Coach and train project members

9 Green Belt A green belt is an individual who works on projects part time. Green belts are the “work horses” of 6  projects. Green belts sometimes are allowed to work full time / lead on simpler projects. Some of their responsibilities:  Define a project objective.  Facilitate the team through all the project.  Analyze data through all phases of the project.  Communicate with the champion, master black belt, black belt, and process owner.

10 Process Owner A process owner is the manager of a process. A process owner has the responsibility for the process and also has the authority to change the process. Some of their responsibilities:  Be accountable for the best practice methods and output of his/her process.  Understand how the process works and the relationship of the process with other processes in the organization.  Participate in the tollgate review process.  Accept and manage the improved process.
