4 4  Head of the CI Office (normally full-time)  Owns the CI Deployment Plan  Owns the Communication Plan  Captures Metrics  Reports directly to the organization’s head  Breaks down organizational barriers CI Deployment Champion Responsibilities

5 5 Provides leadership and guidance for CI Implementation Provides guidance and counsel to the site GM, CI Office, Senior Leadership, Project Sponsors, BBs, GBs in CI efforts MBB may also be assigned to large complex projects and Value Stream transformations Train and mentor BBs Master Black Belt Responsibilities

6 6 Assist Project Sponsor and Teams to lead, schedule, plan and facilitate CI events and projects Black Belt assigned to Value Stream transformations Normally assigned to full time process improvement for at least 2 years Train and/or mentor Green Belts Black Belt Responsibilities

7 7 Under the guidance of a Black Belt: Lead, schedule, plan, and facilitate CI events and projects Assist team with out-briefs Capture results, lessons learned, & future opportunities Normally works for the Project Sponsor and may be part-time or full-time Train & mentor team members Green Belt Responsibilities

8 8 Project Sponsor (Process Owner) Responsibilities Must have process authority Empowers team Breaks down barriers Responsible for project charter Must commit to active support – Helps kick off project – Meets regularly with team to review progress – Attends the final out-brief Implements process sustainment Captures and reports benefits

9 9 Team Responsibilities Cross functional team including: Members from the work area (inside eyes) Members from outside work area (outside eyes willing to question non-value added activities) Customer (internal/external) voice Suppliers/Partners/Safety/Quality Rep

11 11 The Roles of Change Process Owners: – The individual or group who has the power to sanction or legitimize change. – Responsible for creating an environment that enables the necessary changes to be made on time and within budget. Change Agents: – The individuals or groups who are responsible for actually making the change. – Responsible to understand and diagnose the problem, develop a plan to address the problem and execute the change effectively.
