2 Checking your homework. A.B., p.51, ex.1. Ivanovo Russia 29.11.12 Dear Nick I would like to write a few words about otters in Russia. They were common in our region many years ago. However, they are rare in our rivers now. A lot of rivers are polluted. More than that, hunters kill otters because of their fur. Wildlife specialists try to bring otters back to our rivers, they look after them. As a result, we can see otters in the wild. But I think, they are still in danger. Have you ever seen an otter in the wild? I hope to hear from you soon. With love, Petya

Now Earth Day is coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network, [1] and is celebrated in more than 175 countries every year. [2] In 2009, the United Nations designated April 22 International Mother Earth Day. [3] Earth Day is planned for April 22 in all years at least through 2015. He proposed March 21, 1970, the first day of spring in the northern hemisphere. This day of nature's equipoise was later sanctioned in a Proclamation signed by Secretary General U Thant at the United Nations. A month later a separate Earth Day was founded by United States Senator Gaylord Nelson as an environmental teach-in first held on April 22, 1970. While this April 22 Earth Day was focused on the United States, an organization launched by Denis Hayes, who was the original national coordinator in 1970, took it international in 1990 and organized events in 141 nations. 14 In lieu of Earth Day, educational videos for kids are being scoured by Earth Day supporters hoping to teach their children abouthttp://www.sodahead.com/united- states/us-how-to-really-save-the-planet-on- ear... going green. Earth Day however, is being approached more stringently by radical Earth Day supporters who say that in order to save the planet, people should stop having kids.
