Specifications in the information value chain November 20th 2014

Who we are Todays issues (In DK) -> Our vision of the future Our solution (Key features) Discussion/Feedback AGENDA

WHO WE ARE Nicklas Verdier Østergaard Constructing Architect Co-founded BIMbyen.dk BIM Manager at NIRAS Mark Sung Brinkler Constructing Architect Co-founded BIMbyen.dk Former IT/BIM coordinator at Moelven Danmark Master student at ITU - Digital innovation and management

REAL INTENTION? Legal liabilities? Good project? BIM Shark believes in communication for humans by humans... ?

A SINGLE DATABASE/MODEL? BIM SPINE? THE MIGHTY BIM-MODEL

MULTIPLE DATABASES BIM SPINE? SIGMA?CUNECO/BIPS PROJECTWEB BIM-MODEL

ONE SIZE FITS ALL (DK) ? “This is what we need…”

THE SKY IS THE LIMIT Always Updated Multiple platformsGlobal Access

THINK OUT OF THE BOX

Document overview Here you have an overview of all your and your company's documents Documents can be structured in “folders” by using (document)tags

Text editor The layout makes the specification looks like a regular file-based document with page breaks. Paragraphs are unique records in the database BIM Shark has template form bips, digitaleprodukter.dk and more to come. Sidebar The sidebar works as a “table of content” and can be used for easy structuring of the paragraphs

Shark tags Are small tags that can be inserted in the text which are replaced with their real value when the specification is published Here we see a clear connection to the properties in IFC but we do not know which to use in relation to specifications Paragraphs Tags Tags on the paragraphs make it easy to (re)find paragraphs Tags can be used for classification and can handle multiple classification systems (DBK, SfB CCS etc.).

Share your specification in a project share your specifications with teammates Publish your specification Share by tag, id or the entire specification Share specification Tags can be used to share specific parts of the specification Tags can be used for classification and can handle multiple classification systems.

Link to specification via the addin it is easy to create a link to a specification by ID or tag Direct access to the specifications It’s easy to open and see/read the linked specification at all times keep track of what's missing Via standard filters in Revit you can keep track of what's missing at all times

Find specification directly from the model As BIM Shark’s links can get transferred to file formats like IFC can a direct link between the model and specification are preserved. This gives a wide range of possibilities in applications like Solibri

Open API BIM Shark has an open API for people to use

FIND OUT MORE This was a very brief summary of the functions of BIM Shark. More details? Website: bimshark.com (In danish) Request for a live presentation/further questions? 18 How Can We Use bS-tools? IFC properties - which to use in relation to specifications BIM Collaboration Format (BCF ) BIM Service interface exchange (BIMSie) Building Information Model Query Language (BimQL) DISCUSSION
