Designates ASD(NII)/DoD CIO as Office of the Secretary of Defense Principal Staff Assistant (OSD PSA) to oversee PNT policy and for all aspects of GPS
No impact on AF authorities for GPS acquisition and operation
Adds ASD(NII)/CIO responsibilities for:
Policy related to Navigation Warfare (Navwar)
Approval/publication of Precise Positioning Service Performance Standard (PPS PS)
Oversight on behalf of DoD of the interagency National PNT Architecture effort
Guidance and direction for implementation of DoD elements
Participation in National PNT ExCom activities (IAW NSPD)
