2 A noun refers to the name of a person, animal, place, or thing. There are types of nouns, They are, common noun, collective noun, abstract noun, proper noun. Proper nouns are the nouns that refer to a particular person, place, or thing. They always begin with capital letters. Examples; 1. Names of people: John, Victoria, Stanley,Tayo, Mary,etc 2.Titles before names of people begin with capital letters. Examples Engineer Brown, Chairman Tayo, Doctor Femi etc 3. Special Days such as Christmas Day, Ramadan, New year, Mothers’ Day. 4.Names of organisations such as Chrisland Educational Organisation,

3 Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria. 5. Names of the days of the week, months of the year. Monday, October etc. 6. Geographical terms: Europe, Africa, Far East.

4 CLASS WORK Correct the following sentences 1.I hope to travel to accra. 2.The niger and benue are the two important rivers in Nigeria. 3.We live in ikeja. 4.tolu has one beautiful sister. 5.We resumed school on monday. HOME WORK Write three names of people and two places you know.
