This was the time to reap the harvest, and to wave a sheaf of the first fruits of barley before the LORD, at the temple, by the priest, expressing thankfulness for the land.

The high priest was required to wear holy garments woven from white linen (which were never worn again) instead of his normal colorful garments overlaid with the golden breastplate. Israel’s sins for the previous year were covered up. Christ took our sins away forever for all time. We boldly stand before the Presence of God. Deliverance from sin consummated. Redemption is finally complete. Hebrews 2:17 So it is evident that it was essential that He be made like His brethren in every respect, in order that He might become a merciful (sympathetic) and faithful High Priest in the things related to God, to make atonement and propitiation for the people's sins. End of 40 year spiritual exodus. Inheritance of the New Heaven & Earth where God dwells with men. People now either go to Heaven or hell upon death. Hebrews 8:2 As officiating Priest, a Minister in the holy places and in the true tabernacle which is erected not by man but by the Lord. No one knew the day or hour. God blows the final trumpet. The wicked could not enter Heaven. Trumpet is blown The only feast celebrated on the 1 st day of the month on a dark New Moon. In Joshua 6:20, Seven Priests with the ark marched with 7 trumpets around Jericho for 6 days. On the 7 th day they marched 7 times then blew trumpets, people shouted and Jericho collapsed. Ezekiel 33:4, Hosea 8:1, Zechariah 9:14, Zeph.1:15-16-A day of darkness and gloominess, A day of clouds and thick darkness, a day of trumpet and alarm. The wicked could not enter into the promised land.
