5  In 1947, 50% of U.S. college students were veterans  Today – Post-9/11 GI Bill make up only 3%  Campuses across the country are on the cusp of serving more than 2 million military veterans as they return from the Afghanistan and Iraq wars  Most are attending community and technical colleges Student veterans numbers increasing

7  Welcome them home  Express your appreciation of their service ??  Offer to help with their transition to (or back to) campus  Support with patience and listening  Understand that the transition home is a process and can take time  Acclimate, assist and advocate  Student Veterans Associations or Clubs  MPTC recognized as Military Friendly School for the 4th consecutive year We all have a stake in their success
