4. WHY DID O & S JOIN SMARTWAY? O & S has several programs in place designed around saving fuel, which in turn reduces emissions. O&S has customers that are also SMARTWAY partners. We believe in their goals. Decreased Emissions = $$ IT JUST MADE SENSE!

6. USING TECHNOLOGY TO SAVE FUEL Alternative Power Unit Installations - APU Trucks spec’d for aero profile, reduced wind resistance, and weight reduction strategies such as aluminum wheels. Truck’s Electronic Control Module has custom parameters… Truck’s Electronic Control Module has custom parameters… O & S’s Driver Fuel Economy Incentive and Speed reduction technology. Engine shutdown with no override allowed.

7. Tri Pack APU’s 194 units installed since 2005. 25 more scheduled before 12/31/06. Goal is to reduce idle percentage to 5%.

10. SPEED REDUCTION TECHNOLOGY: Driver Rewards Program since 6/05 ECM settings changed to require truck to achieve 6.5 mpg Decreasing speed from 70 mph to 65 mph could save $1,500 per year per truck. Drivers were given a t-shirt to promote what we were doing
