3 Indus Valley Civilization 8000 BCE- 600 BCE Priest King The Priest King is believed to be the head ruler of the Indus Valley Civilization. Due to this statue, the civilization was believes to be run by priests who would teach religion and public worship. Not much is known about the Priest King, but he is the iconic representation of the Indus Valley Civilization. The civilization created the first buttons and rulers which are common tools used today.

5 BUDDHIISM 600 BCE-600 CE BUDDHA The Buddha was created and has become a sacred religious figure to Buddhism. Created in Northern India, the Buddha would teach the 4 Noble Truths that all Buddhists believe. Buddhism has revolutionized and is found in Asia especially India and China. Buddhism has grown to be the sixth most common religion with 500 million followers.

7 Indian Ocean Trade Ports 600-1450 CE INDIAN SPICES The Indian spices were desired in many areas throughout Asia and Europe. The Indian Ocean Trade Network would consist of Indians selling the spices to Portugal while Portugal would trade them for luxury goods. This would generate a great economy for the Indian nation and open up trade partners with many other countries.

9 Mughal Empire 1450-1750 CE The Taj Mahal would be one of the wondrous creations during the Mughal Empire.It was built in the 17th century by Shah Jahan as a tomb for his beloved wife, Mumtaz-i Mahal, who died in childbirth. The Mughal Empire was successful with building roads, trade prospered, and the arts flourished while wondrous architecture from the Mughal Empire still exists today. Taj Mahal

11 Indian Rebellion 1750-1900 CE Enfield Rifle The Enfield Rifle was a technologically advances gun that was an accurate and powerful weapon. It would cause controversy and rumors between the Muslims and the Hindus that the cartridges would be greased with pig and cow grease which was against their religion. One of the reasons that sparked the Indian Rebellion and would begin the start of gun and weapon advancements into the modern world.

13 Partition of India 1900 CE- Present The Fleeing to Pakistan The Partition of India involved the split between India and Pakistan where all Muslims would be sent to Pakistan and all Hindus would be sent to India. The migration would lead to many forms of violence and unsafe actions. The image depicts Muslims trying to find any space to get to Pakistan to avoid the violence that would be inhabited when migrating my foot.
