PeopleSoft Update Manager (PUM) refers to the new process for applying Release 9.2 application maintenance . PUM is the tool within PIA that facilitates patch searching and custom Change Package generation. PeopleSoft Change Assistant orchestrates the entire process. Install the Virtual Box from VirtualBox.org Download and Reassemble the PeopleSoft Image by running the provided batch script existent within the first ZIP file Import the PeopleSoft Image using Virtual Box Configure the Network (Bridged or Host Adapter) Start the Virtual Appliance

PUM Images Posted with PeopleTools 8.54 uses 64 bit SQL client Connectivity– Example FSCM , HCM PUM Targets with PeopleTools 8.53 uses 32 bit SQL Client Connectivity. PUM Targets with PeopleTools 8.54 uses 64 bit SQL Client Connectivity. Update TNSNAMES.ora to include entries for PUM Source and Target Database. Ensure that all appropriate environment variables for Windows are created/populated successfully (i.e., for ORACLE_HOME, PS_HOME, TNS_ADMIN)

I am in middle of upgrade. Do I need to install latest PUM image ? Yes, it is highly recommended to install latest PUM to get all latest Required for Upgrade Fixes Should I always download and install latest PUM image? Yes, it is good practice to install latest PUM image and review for any critical fixes. Can PUM be used as Source Database for Upgrade? No. The Upgrade Source image should be used for Upgrades. Upgrade images can be used by customers who are ‘English Only’ and running on an Oracle Database. Reference PeopleSoft Upgrade Source Images Home Page (Doc ID ) Maintenances should not be applied during upgrade

Can the PUM/Update images be used on virtualization platforms other than Virtual Box? Oracle/PeopleSoft does not test or officially support the usage of the Update images using any virtualization platforms other than Virtual Box. This being said, the Update images which are provided as industry standard OVA image files should work with other virtualization platforms as well, but which may require different configurations and modifications to the OVA image file in order to successfully use them. Please refer to the existing Oracle and/or VMWare support communities for additional information/resources relevant to this topic
