1 VIDEO COMMENTARY PART II By Crosby Pennington

2 Screenshot Number 1 1. What is going on in the screen shot? This is at the very beginning of the video. This is where we first see the kids who have taken over. 2. How does the imagery in this shot connect to the song? Since the entire video is about the relationship between adults and kids, where we actually meet the kids is important. 3. What does the imagery in this shot say about the artist? I think this shows how creative the team behind this video was. These kids look actually intimidating. 4. Considering the action, dress, setting, etc., does this screen shot portray real life or a fantasy world? This is not an accurate portrayal of the real world. 5. Does the video portray people in ways stereotypical to a culture/genre/etc.? I think that this video portrays people as mean on the outside with a better heart on the inside.

3 Screenshot Number 2 1. What is going on in the screen shot? In this shot, one of the kids is dancing in front of his fellow people. 2. How does the imagery in this shot connect to the song? I think that this part shows that even though these kids are vicious that they are still kids. They enjoy things that kids like to do. 3. What does the imagery in this shot say about the artist? This helps the listener realize that the warriors are still kids and as adults they forget to remember that. 4. Considering the action, dress, setting, etc., does this screen shot portray real life or a fantasy world? If they didn’t have the crazy costumes and outrageous props, I believe that this may be a portrayal of real life. 5. Does the video portray people in ways stereotypical to a culture/genre/etc.? I do not think that this portrays a stereotype.

4 Screenshot Number 3 1. What is going on in the screen shot? This is at the very end of the video, it connects the card that Mark throws out of the car in the beginning. Once he is turned back into a kid he finds that card and picks it up, remembering what the city used to be. 2. How does the imagery in this shot connect to the song? This card makes the full circle from the first part to the last part of the video. This card is a symbol for what life used to be like before all of the awful stuff. 3. What does the imagery in this shot say about the artist? This is the symbol that they choose to use to get their point across, without being obvious. 4. Considering the action, dress, setting, etc., does this screen shot portray real life or a fantasy world? This shot could portray real life. 5. Does the video portray people in ways stereotypical to a culture/genre/etc.? I think that this shot says something about our culture here in the US. That we have tarnished what our image used to be.
