27 Advancing eScholarship: Goals Transform unique research and teaching materials into digital collections that are searchable and accessible over the Web Support collaborative and creative use of resources with enduring value to the Cornell community and scholarship at large Build a library of resources to support a range of scholarly activities

28 Content Scope Resources regularly used in teaching or research –Lecture notes, slides, photographs, printed documents, and manuscripts Collections already held by the Library –Instrumental in supporting learning, teaching, and research at Cornell Materials held by other cultural institutions –Especially combining dispersed resources to create new and enriched ones

29 Selection Criteria Increase the availability, and consequently the use of a collection of demonstrated scholarly significance Demonstrate strong interest within the academic community for access to the collection Contribute significantly to the existing digital collections such as the ones included in the Cornell University Library‘s digital library Support the University’s subject strengths Involve interdisciplinary, collaborative, and inter- institutional resources

32 Music & Institute of European Studies Professor Zaslaw, Professor Greenwood, & Professor Noone Planning survey for preserving and digitizing a collection of Renaissance Spanish choirbooks in Toledo Cathedral, Spain.

33 Near Eastern Studies Professor Owen Cuneiform tablet digitization as a part of Cuneiform Digital Library Initiative.
