3 R ED KANGAROO o The Red Kangaroo is Australian largest kangaroo. Their weight ranges from 18 kg up to 90 kilograms. Height is from 74 to 200 cm. The Red Kangaroo travels at speeds as fast as 65 kilometers per hour. o Females have a pouch for carrying their young. o Young kangaroos are born prematurely so they must live in the pouch for up to eight months.

4 KOALA The Koala has large, sharp claws to assist with climbing tree trunks. Weight varies from about 14 kg to 5 kg. Koala fingerprints are similar to human fingerprints. The Koala rest for about 16 to 18 hours a day and spend about three hours eating eucalypt leaves -500 grams.

5 EMU The Emu is the largest bird in Australia. The flightless-bird reach up to 2 metres in height, and is able to run at high speed, 50 km per hour. They have small wings and a long neck and legs. The eggs weigh between 700 and 900 grams ( equivalent 10–12 chicken eggs ).

6 PLATYPUS The Platypus is an extremely different Mammal found in Eastern Australia. The Platypus has a bill that resembles a duck's bill.
