13 COMPETENT TECHNICAL ASSESSORS ARE THE KEY TO SUCCESS As laboratory directors and managers, know that allowing laboratory personnel to audit/assess other laboratories is a valuable learning experience. You enhance the overall quality of your own operations by having well-rounded analysts who have experienced what others in the forensic science community are doing. ASCLD/LAB management realizes that it is always an investment to approve someone to serve on an assessment team, but always consider the return on that investment and approve them when you can.
