2 Who we are… Operations Anando Chatterji – CEO Therapeutic Community psychotherapist for the last 14 years Worked with persons suffering from chronic psychiatric disorders Special Educator for children and adults with autism Associate staff member of the Living Learning Experience workshops, UK Shama Parkhe – Clinical Director MSc in psychology (clinical) from Christ University Hands on experience in observing and interacting with the clinical population in a psychiatric as well as a community setting Workshops and received training in metaphor therapy, TA 101, CBT, Clinical Hypnosis, and Theatre in therapy (Psychodrama) Board of Trustees Shashikala M.S. Managing trustee Journalist for 16 years and Special Educator trained in working with autistic children Juli Cariappa Chairman Founder KRAC-A-Dawna Organic Farm, over 30 years experience in organic farming methods and standards Sham Banerji Secretary and treasurer Founder Chairman and CEO, i2i TeleSolutions a provider of innovative software solutions and services for Telemedicine

3 What we plan to do… TRAINING AWARENESS TREATMENT 18 month treatment programs based on a bio-psycho-social treatment methodology known as “therapeutic communities” Conduct mental health and emotional awareness programs in educational institutions, corporate and business houses and in the local community Workshops, courses and internships for students and professionals intending to work in the clinical setting Our understanding: Dysfunction and well being are part of one continuum

Government expenditure at the center – 0.06% of the total health budget Hospitals, vocational training and rehabilitation centers Cost for counseling/psychotherapy Rs.750 - 4000 per hour Numbers  India 4000 psychiatrists 1 psychiatrist per 400000 Indians 1000 psychologists 8000 social workers 6000000 patients needing help  Bangalore - 1 psychiatrist per 3400 patients  550000 patients needing help Hospitals Rehab/Voc. Training Counseling THE NEED AFFORDABLE AND ACCESSIBLE LONG AND SHORT TERM TREATMENT PROGRAMS Self Help Groups Family

5 What we have begun… Working with patients individually A study group every Saturday in the practical applications of psychology www.facebook.com/readabsorbthink Working with parents and teachers of Snehadhara, a school for children and adults with special needs A 3 day workshop on child abuse for a school for under privileged children Proposed a certificate program for post graduate students of psychology and counseling
