6 Even If Rains, We Are In A Hole

7 Delta Is Not Meeting The Needs of Anyone

10 Package of Bills To:  New Delta Stewardship Council  New Delta Plan  New Delta Conservancy  Refocused Delta Protection Commission  New Delta Watermaster  New Water Conservation Requirements  Improved Water Rights Reporting/Enforcement  New Statewide Groundwater Monitoring  New Funding Sources – Bonds? Fees?

11 This Will Help, But Not Solve, LA Region Water Problems  Climate Will Continue To Change  Drought May Become New Normal  “Fixing” The Delta Will Take Decades

12 And, Something Unexpected Will Happen  Earthquake  Catastrophic Fire  Severe Storms/Floods  Tsunamis  Toxics

13 So, What Should We Do?

14 Improve Regional Self-Sufficiency  Clean-Up Groundwater Basins  Increase Groundwater Storage  Capture & Reuse Stormwater  Recycle  Tiered Water Rates  Source Water Protection  Conservation

15 There Is Still Much We Can Do

16 Including Restoring The LA River
