WASD Board Policy #218.1 Weapons The Board prohibits students from possessing and bringing weapons and replicas of weapons into any school district buildings, onto school property, to any school sponsored activity, and onto any public vehicle providing transportation to school or a school sponsored activity. The areas covered by this policy include school buildings, school grounds, campus parking lots, school buses, school bus stops, school district service complexes, premises and vehicles used for official school purposes, and transportation routes to and from school. This policy will be in effect at school district-sponsored activities held off school campuses. 6. Consequences for Weapons Violation The school district shall expel for a period of not less than one year any student who violates the weapons policy. Such expulsion shall be given in conformance with formal due process proceedings required by law. The Superintendent may recommend modifications of such expulsion requirement on a case-by- case scenario.
