Your own Mysteries/suspense Math – when you finally figure how to solve the problem These are Aha Moments When you realize something, and that realization, in some way, changes our actions.
This is that moment when a character realizes or understands something that until that point he had not known. That realization will probably change his or her actions in some way Helps the reader to better understand how the character’s actions are related to the conflict, the progression of the plot, or theme.
Text Clues – phrases that indicate either a sudden or a growing awareness that point to some understanding that the character has finally reached Examples: Suddenly I realized Now I understand In an instant I saw It came to me in a flash I now knew I finally understood that It occurred to me These clues tell you that this moment is important.
Once you identify the Aha Moment, stop and ask yourself How might this change things? If the character figured out a problem, you probably just learned about the conflict. If the character understood a life lesson, you probably just learned the theme.
