Theories of 2012 Doomsday 1.The end of the Mayan Calendar. 2.Line up of the solar system. 3.The big collide with planet Nibiru. 4.Lethal solar flares.

The End of the Mayan Calendar 1.It is believed that the earth will come to an end when the Mayan Civilization Calendar reaches the last day of baktun 13. 2.A baktun is 144,000 days: a little more than 394 years. 3.December 21, 2012 is the end of the Mayan Baktun 13.

Line up of the Solar System 1.Some scientists believe that the solar system will line up exactly on December 21, 2012. 2.It is believed that this is why the Mayan Civilization chose to end their calendar with baktun 13 or December 21, 2012. 3.The line up is believed to expose the earth to powerful unknown galactic forces. 4.A “pole shift” is possible with the alignment.

The Big Collide with Planet Nibiru 1.Nibiru will orbit extremely close to the sun causing it to disrupt the orbits of the other planets in the solar system. 2.It was recorded in Genesis that Nibiru was responsible for the Great Flood and similar events that could take place in 2012. 3.The Mayans associated this planet with the ending of their calendar.

Lethal Solar Flares 1.The sun will burst into solar flares damaging communications and many Earthly systems. 2.The flares will lead to space storms strong enough to fry several planets. 3.Solar flares could weaken Earth’s shield causing damaging radiation havoc on humankind. 4.The next solar maximum is due to occur in 2012.

Theories: True or False? 1.The end of the Mayan Calendar. 2.Line up of the solar system. 3.The big collide with planet Nibiru. 4.Lethal solar flares.

The End of the Mayan Calendar 1.The Mayans referred to many dates beyond baktun 13. One Mayan text mentioned the year 4772 which is well past 2012. The Mayans would not mention the year 4772 if they thought the world was going to end in 2012. 2.Some ancient inscriptions turn 13 baktuns into an important reset milestone, others imply that the calendar simply keeps running. For instance, it takes 20 baktuns to make a pictun. 3.Scientists have come up with the conclusion that on December 21, 2012, the calendar will display the equivalent of a string of zeros, like the odometer turning over on your car, with the close of something like a millennium.

Line up of the Solar System 1.NASA completed a study on the alignment of the solar system and came to the conclusion that no such thing will happen. If a planetary alignment did occur, it would have no effect on Earth. 2.The Earth and the Sun align in the center of the Milky Way every December and no consequences occur. 3.Every 200 years the planets are within 90° of each other but nothing happens to the Earth or the Universe.

The Big Collide with Planet Nibiru 1.NASA astrobiologist Morrison says there is no object coming towards Earth. 2.“If Nibiru or Planet X were real and headed for an encounter with the Earth in 2012, astronomers would have been tracking it for at least the past decade, and it would be visible by now to the naked eye. Obviously, it does not exist. Eris is real, but it is a dwarf planet similar to Pluto that will remain in the outer solar system; the closest it can come to Earth is about 4 billion miles” (NASA).

Lethal Solar Flares 1.Big solar flares are possible with the sun but scientists have no indications that the sun will unleash lethal solar flares in the near future. 2. “Solar activity has a regular cycle, with peaks approximately every 11 years. Near these activity peaks, solar flares can case some interruption of satellite communications, although engineers are learning how to build electronics that are protected against most solar storms. The next solar maximum will occur in the 2012-2014 time frame and is predicted to be an average solar cycle, no different than previous cycles throughout history” (NASA).

Conclusion The Earth will not come to an end on December 21, 2012. -The Mayan Calendar will roll over to 0 or start a new baktun. - The planets will not be completely aligned in 2012. No previous alignment has damaged Earth or the Solar System. - Nibiru is not headed towards Earth. Scientists would have already discovered if a planet was going to collide with Earth. - The sun will not put off any solar flares larger than the ones we have seen throughout history.
