Moved to the Natick Senior Center in June 1996 –Predecessor club was Framingham Chess Club, founded in 1983 –Incorporated as a 501(c)7 non-profit corporation Demographics –Largest participation from Natick –Attendees from throughout the MetroWest, North from NH, South from RI –Wide distribution of ages from pre-teens to Seniors Insured –Requested by Diana Rider –$3M liability/abuse –Town of Natick in rider

4 September 12, 2005 MetroWest Chess Club at the Natick Senior Center Slide 4 Excellence of Program “Chess Club of the Year” for 2002 –Awarded by the US Chess Federation, choosing us the Best Chess Club in the entire US Largest Chess Club in New England –We average 80 players per event –The median chess club attracts ~20 per event Big influence for chess in Eastern Mass and New England –We have trained Tournament Directors for other chess clubs that want to emulate our good points –One of our past Tournament Directors started “North East Chess” which is now a premier regional tournament
