12 Instructional Areas Take a few minutes to go through each of the 4 categories and discuss what they mean and what it looks like in practice. In small groups (3-4) you will then share your ideas. Your group will then create 4 rules, 1 for each category.

13 Consequences Everything we do in life has consequences. Consequences are the things that happen to you when you choose not to follow a rule. This is what will happen if you choose to violate one of the classroom rules: – –1 st time – Warning – –2 nd time – Move seat – –3 rd time – Detention on X at lunch – –4 th time – Call home – –5 th time – Office referral

14 Tracking Your Behaviour In order to help you make responsible decisions. I will use a chart to track your behaviour. You start a clean slate every week. Consequences will be enforced only for the repeated violations committed during that week. If you reach the 4 th step two weeks in a row you will be referred to administration automatically. I will recognise students who choose responsible behaviour, by having no violations for two consecutive weeks.

15 Fire Drills My fence number is: When the fire alarm sounds the following must occur: – –1 person will be asked to close both windows and blinds – –1 person will be asked to turn off the LCD projector – –1 person will be asked to lead everyone out to the fence – –1 person will be asked to turn off the lights and shut the door At the fence everyone in this class must gather together I will do a roll call 1 person will then be asked to run quickly to Ms O’Reilly in the grass area of the round about to report our class attendance

In small groups you are going to discuss what this rubric will look like. Each group will present their ideas.
