4 “From a drop of water to a stream of life.” Objectives:  To connect, create, and share information using technology to help in solving boundaries and creating a better society.  To cultivate in students respect, responsibility and ethics as far as the environmental issues are concerned.  To develop a global perspective through an understanding of the interactions among the individual, society, and the natural world.  To improve students’ critical thinking, creativity, and analytical ability.  To broaden intellectual and cultural experience through active engagement.

6 History and Philosophy Water from a historical perspective:  Romans infused remarkable energy into their water systems.  Ancient Greeks held water as one of the four classical elements (earth, fire, air).  Large Metropolises and their accessibility via water. What did the students do?  Theatrical part which emphasises the importance of water since the ancient times.  A visit to berati to attest the religeous ceremony of the Holy Water.

7 Bio-Chemistry Water from a Biological perspective:  Water as a basic element of life  58% - 80 % of human body is water  Water as the universal solvent What did the students do? The students practically fulfilled two experimental works:  Photosynthesis (plant leaf).  Electrolysis (produce hydrogen from water)

8 Physics Water from a Physical perspective:  How is the water used as a source of alternative energy  The benefits and risks of water in producing electricity What did the students do? They successfully fulfilled two experimental works:  A model of hydrogen engine.  A demonstration of a Hydroelectric Dam failure.

9 Technology What did the students do?  School’s webpage.  Videos that illustrate the experiments, demonstrations and team works fulfilled.  Photos taken during and after the project.  Polished Project. The tools used:  Microsoft Office (Word, Power Point, Publisher).  Windows Media Player.  Autocollage.  Windows Live.  Internet Explorer. Technology is a keyword of our project

10 Community Water supplies are being damaged and wasted everyday, and with our project we offered our solution to this problem. What did the students do?  Constructed a simple water filter, both efficient and low- cost  Produced leaflets and spread them to make the community more sensible towards this global issue
