1 The Father’s Love The Glorious Freedom Romans 8:12-21

2 We are forgiven and restored.
Galatians 4:6-7 “Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father." 7 So you are no longer a slave, but a son;” We are forgiven and restored.

3 Romans 8:12-21 “Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation-but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it. 13 For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live, 14 because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

4 Romans 8:12-21 15 For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs-heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

5 Romans 8:12-21 18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19 The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. 20 For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.”

6 Freedom From Condemnation
We are free from sin, guilt, and shame. “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2

7 Freedom From Condemnation
We are free from sin, guilt, and shame. Galatians 5:1 “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”

8 Freedom From Condemnation
We are free from sin, guilt, and shame. We can live with profound peace.

9 Psalm 103:11-14 “For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; 12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. 13 As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him; 14 for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust.”

10 Freedom From Condemnation
We are free from sin, guilt, and shame. We can live with profound peace. We can experience intimacy with the Father.

11 Freedom From Condemnation
“For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."” (Romans 8:15). We are free from sin, guilt, and shame. We can live with profound peace. We can experience intimacy with the Father.

12 Freedom From Fear “For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."” (Romans 8:15).

13 Freedom From Fear We are free from sin and legalism.
We are free to joyfully obey. We can live with “reckless” confidence.

14 Freedom From Despair Romans 8:24-25 “For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.”

15 Freedom From Despair We are free from worry, fear, and anxiety.
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Matthew 6:34

16 Freedom From Despair We are free from worry, fear, and anxiety.
Psalm 46 “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,”

17 Freedom From Despair We are free from worry, fear, and anxiety.
We are free to live in the present. We are free to suffer with grace and hope.

18 Freedom From Despair “Now if we are children, then we are heirs-heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. 18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.” (Romans 8:17-18). We are free from worry, fear, and anxiety. We are free to live in the present. We are free to suffer with grace and hope.
