24 Impact of Napoleon Spread the ideas of the French Revolution in Europe. Defeated the Old and New Rome (Austria & Russia) Ended the Holy Roman Empire in Germany Conquered a European realm that was bigger than Caesar’s or Charlemagne’s conquests in Europe Created more kings in a year and a half than the Holy Roman Emperors had in a millennium. Emancipated Jews across Europe. Sold the Louisiana Colony (one million square miles) to the United States Ended the Papal dominion and power to persecute.

25 Why Napoleon’s Egyptian Campaign? Arab and Western scholars date 1799 as the beginning of the modern era in the world and the Middle East. As seen by Muslims, Napoleon invasion of Egypt is the precursor of the Western invasion and dominance of the Muslim world, and this includes Israel’s rebirth. Napoleon emancipated Christians and Jews from their status as second class citizens (dhimmis) in Egypt. Napoleon impacted the three monotheistic religions, Christianity, Judaism, Islam and sowed the seeds of modern conflict among the three. Napoleon’s invasion was the beginning of the Lord’s preparation of the Muslim world for the kingdom.
