-Go to Perth to fish and dive -Loved to fish -Loved the freedom of sailing out over the swell -Met his friend(Richard) to fish and dive 潜水 -an experienced diver

He saw a yellowtail kingfish and chased it.

He reached the reef he saw a turtle

As he followed the creatures two tiny alarm bells sounded, and he getting further and further away from the boat.

there were 3m waves and 70km/ h winds. The sun was still shining in the bright, clear sky above. “Boy, I can’t see the boat,” Darrin thought.

He waited, he was conscious of a radical current, pulling him further and further away from where he knew the boat should be.

Richard,I am here!!! Help me But Richard didn’t see him, he thought before telling himself to calm down and keep to the plan.

There was nothing else to do, he’d have to swim the 250m to the boat. Darrin was a strong swimmer, but the wind too strong.

If he wanted to stay where he was and wait for recovery. But he could see the sun going down, there was very little chance of anyone seeing him in the waves.

The currents and waves were all heading towards land, which he could see 8km in the distance. I’ll have to swim to shore.

His family called to the sea rescue team. Sharyn powell is the leader of the team.

When he swim in to the shore, his legs seized up with cramps and he was vomiting.

He concentrated on pulling himself forward by the thought of the people waiting for him at home. Finally, he reached the shore.

He reached to the radio shack and tell his family he was alive.

Darrin thanks Sharyn Powell, who skippered a rescue boat to search for him.
