3 LIFT The upward force that is created by the movement of air above and below a wing. Air flows faster above the wing and slower below the wing, creating a difference in pressure that tends to keep an airplane flying.

4 LIFT Increased air speed = Decreased air pressure Decreased air speed = Increased air pressure

5 GRAvity The force that pulls all objects towards the earth.

6 THRust The force that moves a plane forward through the air.

7 DRAG The air resistance that tends to slow the forward movement of an airplane.

8 LIFT THRUST DRAG GRAVITY 1 Object 1 is at rest. 2 Object 2 has moved but still controlled by gravity. 3 Object 3 is in flight.
