Good Friday 2013 The Trinitarian economy on the Cross

Josephus “I was not worthy to be born in the first place, if I would reject the plan and will of God and my own father, and not give myself up willing to both their pleasures. Even if this was the will of you alone, my father, it would be wrong to disobey.” And from there he went immediately up to the altar.

St Ambrose [Isaac feared God, and having been truly Abraham’s son, he submitted to his father, even to the limit of death; so also Joseph, despite seeing in a dream the sun, the moon, and the stars, bowed down to him, he also submitted completely to his father (Genesis 37: 12

Resurrection Scene “Then on the third day Abraham lifted his eyes and saw the place afar off” (Gen 22: 4)

Holding the Cross And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering and laid it on Isaac his son. And he took the fire in his hand, and a knife. And they both went together. Gen 22:6

St. Jerome says [Isaac, in his readiness to die, had carried the cross of the Bible before the Bible came].

The Offering 17By faith Abraham, being tested, offered up Isaac. And he who had received the promises offered up his only-begotten son, 18of whom it was said that in Isaac your Seed shall be called, 19concluding that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead, from where he even received him, in a figure. Heb 11:17-19

Abraham saw my Day 13And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked. And, behold, a ram behind (Akhare) him was entangled in a thicket by its horns. And Abraham went and took the ram and offered it up for a burnt offering instead of his son. Gen 22:13

Death of the old Israel 1And Sarah was a hundred twenty seven years old, the years of the life of Sarah. 2And Sarah died in Kirjath-arba; the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan. And Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her. Gen 23:1,2

St Paul testimony 11I say then, Did they not stumble that they fall? Let it not be! But by their slipping away came salvation to the nations, to provoke them to jealousy. 12But if their slipping away is the riches of the world, and their default is the riches of the nations, how much more their fullness? Rom 11:11,12

Eleazar in a mission 2And Abraham said to the oldest servant of his house, who ruled over all that he had, I pray you, put your hand under my thigh. 3And I will make you swear by the LORD, the God of Heaven and the God of the earth, that you shall not take a wife to my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell.

4But you shall go to my country and to my kindred, and take a wife to my son Isaac. 5And the servant said to him, Perhaps the woman will not be willing to follow me to this land. Must I necessarily bring your son again to the land from which you came? 6And Abraham said to him, Take care that you do not bring my son there again. Gen 24:2-6

Grafted in the tree 16For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, also the branches. 17And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and became a sharer of the root and the fatness of the olive tree with them, 18do not boast against the branches. But if you boast, it is not you that bears the root, but the root bears you. Rom 11:16-18

The Gifts of the Spirit 10And the servant took ten camels of the camels of his master, and departed. For all the goods of his master were in his hand. And he arose, and went to Mesopotamia to the city of Nahor. 11And he made his camels kneel down outside the city by a well of water at the time of the evening, the time that women go out to draw. Gen 24:10,11

The Church is under the Leadership of the Spirit 18And she said, Drink, my lord. And she hurried and let down her pitcher upon her hand, and gave a drink to him. 19And when she had finished giving him drink, she said, I will draw water for your camels also, until they have finished drinking. Gen 24:18,19

No Hindrance to the Spirit 56And he said to them, Do not hinder me, since the LORD has prospered my way. Send me away, that I may go away to my master. Gen 24:56

The Church replaced Israel 67And Isaac brought her into his mother Sarah's tent, and took Rebekah, and she became his wife. And he loved her. And Isaac was comforted after his mother's death. Gen 24:67
