15. What are the two events? One has taken place already… – A. The birth in mortality, ministry, atonement, death, and resurrection from the dead of Jesus Christ…the only begotten in the flesh, the Son of Elohim, the Father. – In all the worlds, in all the galaxies, in all the heavens …they all prophesied, waited, and celebrated that event.

41. THE PAST/FUTURE City of Enoch is gone, but will return, be joined with New Jerusalem and return to earth. Though special and holy places, both JERUSALEM and NEW JERUSALEM will be deserted and left desolate for a number of years. In the Latter Days, after the restoration of the Gospel and Priesthood to the earth, and the re-establishment of the Church of Jesus Christ... both cities will begin to be established. This will consist of both a physical gathering and a spiritual gathering. (There are 4 types of gathering)

43. PHYSICAL GATHERING  In Last days…People will be physically gathered. Jews to Old Jerusalem, Ephraim, Manassah(the majority), and Adopted Gentiles to the New Jerusalem.  During this process of Gathering…Old Jerusalem and New Jerusalem will both be cleansed of wickedness, (including hypocrites), and purified  (Isaiah, especially Chapters 3 & 4, Revelation of John, Doctrine & Covenants, numerous prophecies give details on this)

46. Future The Holy City of New Jerusalem will be started BEFORE the full cleansing of Old Jerusalem will be finished. During the Armageddon War, the call will go out to the world to gather to New Jerusalem if they want peace and safety. ”Go ye forth of Babylon, flee…” They will come singing the songs of Zion.

47. Future Ephraim will be located in two locations, Utah and Independence, Missouri and will grow together and eventually become a city of 1500 square miles. At the destruction of the Earth by Fire, the righteous dead will come forth, New Jerusalem will be raised up from the earth (the rapture), and meet with the City of Enoch in the heavens.

48. Wheat & Tares Therefore, I must gather together my people, according to the parable of the wheat and the tares, that the wheat may be secured in the garners to possess eternal life, and be crowned with celestial glory, when I shall come in the kingdom of my Father to reward every man according as his work shall be; While the tares shall be bound in bundles, and their bands made strong, that they may be burned with unquenchable fire. D&C 101:65-66

"And it shall be called the New Jerusalem, a land of peace, a city of refuge, a place of safety for the saints of the Most High God; "And the glory of the Lord shall be there, and the terror of the Lord also shall be there, insomuch that the wicked will not come unto it, and it shall be called Zion. "And it shall come to pass among the wicked, that every man that will not take his sword against his neighbor must needs flee unto Zion for safety. "And there shall be gathered unto it out of every nation under heaven; and it shall be the only people that shall not be at war one with another. "And it shall be said among the wicked: Let us not go up to battle against Zion, for the inhabitants of Zion are terrible; wherefore we cannot stand. "And it shall come to pass that the righteous shall be gathered out from among all nations, and shall come to Zion, singing with songs of everlasting joy." D&C 45:66-71

50. ESTABLISHING ZION Note that the people FIRST became a zion type people… and then they built the city of Zion. And the Lord called his people ZION, because they were of one heart and one mind, and dwelt in righteousness; and there was no poor among them. And Enoch continued his preaching in righteousness unto the people of God. And it came to pass in his days, that he built a city that was called the City of Holiness, even ZION. Moses 7:18-19

52. 2 Behold, I say unto you, were it not for the transgressions of my people, speaking concerning the church and not individuals, they might have been redeemed even now. 3 But behold, they have not learned to be obedient to the things which I required at their hands, but are full of all manner of evil, and do not impart of their substance, as becometh saints, to the poor and afflicted among tm; 4 And are not united according to the union required by the law of the celestial kingdom; 5 And Zion cannot be built up unless it is by the principles of the law of the celestial kingdom; otherwise I cannot receive her unto myself. 6 And my people must needs be chastened until they learn obedience, if it must needs be, by the things which they suffer. D&C 105:2-6

55. The LAW OF CONSECRETION:  A subset of the Law of the Celestial kingdom “Equal in earthly things”

56. That you may be equal in the bonds of heavenly things, yea, and earthly things also, for the obtaining of heavenly things. For if ye are not equal in earthly things ye cannot be equal in obtaining heavenly things; For if you will that I give unto you a place in the celestial world, you must prepare yourselves by doing the things which I have commanded you and required of you. 58. the full Law of Consecration/United Order/ Order of Enoch has never been practiced since the time it was discontinued in 1838. In Section 105, the Lord indicates that the law of consecration will not be practiced in its entirety until Zion is redeemed. This is inferred from D&C 105:34: "And let those commandments which I have given concerning Zion and her law be executed and fulfilled, after her redemption."

59. "This is a simple outline of how things will exist with regard to some of these matters, when the law of God shall be fully carried out. We Must Pass Through Trials to establish Zion: "All intelligent beings who are crowned with crowns of glory, immortality, and eternal lives must pass through every ordeal appointed for intelligent beings to pass through, to gain their glory and exaltation. Every calamity that can come upon mortal beings will be suffered to come upon the few, to prepare them to enjoy the presence of the Lord. If we obtain the glory that Abraham obtained, we must do so by the same means that he did. If we are ever prepared to enjoy the society of Enoch, Noah, Melchizedek, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, or of their faithful children, and of the faithful Prophets and Apostles, we must pass through the same experience, and gain the knowledge, intelligence, and endowments that will prepare us to enter into the celestial kingdom of our Father and God. How many of the Latter-day Saints will endure all these things, and be prepared to enjoy the presence of the Father and the Son? You can answer that question at your leisure. Every trial and experience you have passed through is necessary for your salvation." Discourses of Brigham Young, p.345, 8:150

63. The GLORY of ZION "And the glory of the Lord shall be there, and the terror of the Lord also shall be there, insomuch that the wicked will not come unto it, and it shall be called Zion. Schools and universities were erected, to which all had access; in the latter Urims were placed, for the study of the past, present, and future, and for obtaining a knowledge of heavenly bodies, and of the construction of worlds and universes. Also Isaiah 62:4: "Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate; but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the Lord delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married.“ "In the first instance, we have the earth on a move like a chased roe and in the second place, we have it married. And from the whole, and various scriptures, we learn, that the continents and islands shall be united in one, as they were on the morn of creation, and the sea shall retire and assemble in its own place, where it was before; and all these scenes shall take place during the mighty convulsion of nature, about the time of the coming of the Lord. "Having restored the earth to the same glorious state in which it first existed— leveling the mountains, exalting the valleys, smoothing the rough places, making the deserts fruitful, and bringing all the continents, and islands together, causing the curse to be taken off, that noxious weeds and thorns, and thistles shall no longer be produced; the next thing is to regulate and restore the brute creation to their former state of peace and glory, causing enmity to cease from off the earth. But this will never be done until there is a general destruction poured out upon man, which will entirely cleanse the earth, and sweep all wickedness from its face Parley P. 71. The stars which will fall to the earth, are fragments, which have been broken off from the earth from time to time, in the mighty convulsions of nature. Some in the days of Enoch, some perhaps in the days of Peleg, some with the ten tribes, and some at the crucifixion of the Messiah. These all must be restored again at the "times of restitution of all things." This will restore the ten tribes of Israel; and also bring again Zion, even Enoch's city. It will bring back the tree of life which is in the midst of the paradise of God; that you and I may partake of it. When these fragments, (some of which are vastly larger than the present earth) are brought back and joined to this earth, it will cause a convulsion of all nature; the graves of the Saints will be opened, and rise from the dead; while the mountains will flow down, the vallies rise, the sea retire to its own place, the islands and continents will be removed, and earth be rolled together as a scroll. The earth will be many times larger than it is now. "If I have told you of earthly things and ye believe not; what would you think if you were to be told of heavenly things?" – Parley P.
