2. Resting in God’s Powerful Forgiveness God isn’t marking our sins. God’s forgiveness is shocking & life altering. 1 Timothy 1:15-16 God’s forgiveness is full & abundant. God blots out our sins as a thick cloud. Isaiah 44:22 God forgets our sins & remembers them no more. Jeremiah 31:34 God puts our sins behind His back. Isaiah 38:17 God buries our sins in the depths of the sea. Micah 7:19 God takes our sins as far as east is from west. Psalm 103:12

3. Finding a Heart of Forgiveness We have to become a new creation in Christ. 2 Corinthians 5:17 We have to trust God to be faithful to provide what we need to forgive. Lamentations 3:21-23 We have to learn to live out forgiveness Covering sin over: 1 Peter 4:8 Removing the stain of sin: Mark 11:25-26 Keeping a short memory of wrongs: Matthew 18:21-22 Letting go: Ephesians 4:31-32 When we forgive evil we do not excuse it, we do not tolerate it, we do not smother it. We look the evil full in the face, call it what it is, let its horror shock and stun and enrage us, and only then do we forgive it.
