5 Page 5 2012-13 Financial Year Key Dates First compliance year started on 1 July 2012 Two surrender periods for 2012-13 financial year: progressive surrender: 1 July 2012 - 15 June 2013 final surrender: publication date to 1 Feb 2014 15 June is 17 June 2013, 1 Feb is 3 Feb 2014 (midnight AEST) 17 June and 3 Feb are deadlines to acquit liability 1 April is not the start date progressive surrender period has already started purchase additional carbon units from April 2013
