Copyright Delta Industrial Sales P/L 2004 Page 9 ADVANTAGES: Cost Cost saving over manual greasing Cost saving with increased plant production time Cost saving through reduced maintenance and down time

Copyright Delta Industrial Sales P/L 2004 Page 10 ADVANTAGES: Maintenance Lubrication is automated - lubrication occurs when plant is operating: - when it’s needed Dirt and moisture are prevented from entering the bearing Bearing life is increased Seal performance is improved GreaseMax change-overs can be programmed into the plant maintenance schedule

Copyright Delta Industrial Sales P/L 2004 Page 11 ADVANTAGES: Environment & Safety Lubrication is cleaner Lubricant use is appropriate: environmental harm is minimised Safety is improved - operators have no reason to attempt lubrication of moving parts or bearings in dangerous areas

Copyright Delta Industrial Sales P/L 2004 Page 12 OPERATION

Copyright Delta Industrial Sales P/L 2004 Page 13 OPERATION operates at a set rate for a set period without maintenance or adjustment constant output rate regardless of bearing type, tolerance, seal condition, vibration or movement

Copyright Delta Industrial Sales P/L 2004 Page 14 OPERATION no internal pressure prior to activation constant rate of reaction over whole life of unit, therefore - constant lubricant output rate completely self-regulating

Copyright Delta Industrial Sales P/L 2004 Page 15 INSTALLATION simply screw in the starter cap A very simple procedure! tighten firmly with a screw driver screw into bearing or feed line, hand tight record change-over date

Copyright Delta Industrial Sales P/L 2004 Page 16 INSTALLATION Pre-grease with a grease gun on first installation (not required at routine change-overs) GreaseMax may be mounted in any position

Copyright Delta Industrial Sales P/L 2004 Page 17 INSTALLATION GreaseMax can develop a maximum operating pressure of 10 Bar (150psi) In practice it’s output pressure is approximately in equilibrium with grease-way resistance Extension lines can be used - up to 2M, 8mm ID

Copyright Delta Industrial Sales P/L 2004 Page 18 INSTALLATION Affect of heat GreaseMax is designed to operate at an average environmental temperature of 25 O C Temperature variations above or below 25 O C over a short period -e.g. periods of exceptionally hot or cold days, will have little or no affect on the overall life of GreaseMax.

Copyright Delta Industrial Sales P/L 2004 Page 20 APPLICATION As a guide: Shaft size (mm) GreaseMax type  In severe conditions a faster GreaseMax may be needed - wet - dirty / dusty - heavy load - vibration Multiple GreaseMax units can feed into one point but a single GreaseMax must not be used to feed more than one point.

Copyright Delta Industrial Sales P/L 2004 Page 21 THE ENVIRONMENT & DISPOSAL GreaseMax is suitable for disposal via industrial waste collection, for land-fill burying GreaseMax is recyclable GreaseMax retains pressure after expiry and should be disposed of properly

Copyright Delta Industrial Sales P/L 2004 Page 22 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS The GreaseMax design is fail safe. The starter cap cannot be screwed in without turning the activator screw down, which in turn can only break the seals and release the controlling element into the chemicals. The only possible result then is the production of gas which must push the piston forward and the lubricant out. The gas is retained in a gas tight neoprene bag, itself sealed by the gas tight seals on the piston and the double O-rings on the starter cap. How do I know GreaseMax is working, when the position of the piston can't be seen?

Copyright Delta Industrial Sales P/L 2004 Page 23 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS GreaseMax has only one moving part, (the piston) no mechanical parts no electrics It uses an operating system proven to be absolutely reliable over 25 years

Copyright Delta Industrial Sales P/L 2004 Page 24 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS If I have a worn bearing will GreaseMax discharge faster? No, definitely not. GreaseMax is self regulating and is a true automatic lubricator. It will maintain it's correct discharge rate regardless of the bearing type, tolerance or operating conditions

Copyright Delta Industrial Sales P/L 2004 Page 25 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS The plant is regularly stopped, for example at the week end. Will this create a problem with over greasing? No. GreaseMax discharges at a very slow controlled rate and the amount of grease it can push into a bearing while the bearing is stopped for a few days will not a cause a problem. GreaseMax is able to maintain a balance of pressure and if the plant is stopped for short periods, for instance at the week end, the resistance of the grease way is increased. This will temporarily stop GreaseMax. When the plant starts again, the grease will be released into the moving bearing. (Eventually GreaseMax would build enough pressure to move grease into the stopped bearing).

Copyright Delta Industrial Sales P/L 2004 Page 26 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Will the 120 grams of grease in the GreaseMax be enough? Yes. When greasing is done with a grease gun, excess grease is used. Only a very small amount of grease is actually used by a bearing, the rest is wasted. Because GreaseMax introduces grease into the bearing at a slow controlled rate while the bearing is moving, only a small output quantity is required. Providing the correct GreaseMax is chosen to begin with, the output will be sufficient. An additional benefit is that the plant will remain much cleaner

Copyright Delta Industrial Sales P/L 2004 Page 27 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS We took the unit off and nothing came out! This is the most common "complaint" or misunderstanding with this product. GreaseMax will only show a large and obvious discharge if it has been used on a bearing with a reasonable amount of grease-way resistance. If GreaseMax is applied to a bearing with little or no grease-way resistance (which is common) and GreaseMax is unscrewed, nothing should come out, except at A VERY SLOW RATE. Remember, GreaseMax operates more or less in equilibrium with resistance.

Copyright Delta Industrial Sales P/L 2004 Page 28 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Why shouldn't GreaseMax be removed from the bearing during operation? If GreaseMax is operating under a lot of pressure, when removed this pressure will be lost. The unit may have been at say, half life, so the piston will be halfway down the cylinder. The chemical reaction which produces the pressure is very slow and to re-pressurise up to the required pressure the second time may take a considerable period. Under-lubrication during this period may result. Note: when first installed there is no problem with the time taken to accumulate pressure as the internal volume in the expansion diaphragm is fully taken up with liquid so pressure develops quickly

Copyright Delta Industrial Sales P/L 2004 Page 29 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Why doesn't GreaseMax have a transparent body? Steel does not deform under the heat and pressure likely to be encountered when using GreaseMax in some applications. Plastic does. If this were to occur, GreaseMax would suffer failure. The progress of the piston can’t be seen but the advantages in terms of the performance and reliability of the unit far outweigh this small disadvantage.

Copyright Delta Industrial Sales P/L 2004 Page 30 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Why isn’t GreaseMax adjustable? GreaseMax is made to be completely reliable in all conditions. We do not compromise with any design aspect, particularly this one. To make it adjustable would mean added complexity and the addition of electrical or mechanical components. This would inevitably degrade it’s reliability.
