Sons of God Sons of God The word "sons' here refers to full grown mature children of the Lord who are able to take on responsibilities with confidence and faithfully and loyally handle them. The injunction is that part of maturity which is to know the Holy Spirit enough to be led by Him. God wants every one of His children to get to that stage of maturity where they personally are able to follow the Holy Spirit's guidance without too much dependence on prophets, pastors or any other mature believer; without an overdependence on circumstances, etc

Man is spirit, soul and body. The Spirit is the link for God You do not have to help the Holy Spirit; He knows how to place every believer in the right place at the right time - and he is never rushed. Do not run ahead - follow! The principle of the Kingdom of God is that God exalts those who humble themselves as servants of the King and His people.

With the spirit, man communicates with God Who is a Spirit; with the soul, man communicates emotionally and intellectually; and with the body, man communicates physically with the physical world in which he lives. At the fall, the spirit of man was cut off from the Spirit of God; at the new birth, man became one spirit with the Lord.

Mankind, as a whole, is spiritually dead - there is no connection between God and man. The new birth reconnects God and man, and just like a baby cannot distinguish the words its mother speaks to it, so the new born believer often finds it difficult to distinguish what God is saying.

Often, culture, social standing or race causes this attitude.

Us, Our Us, Our These are terms which God uses of Himself. The word for God here is the Hebrew word 'Elohim' which is the plural form of 'Elan'. Elohim is a composite plural word - that is, it is a singular entity made up of many facets.

Jehovah calls Himself Our, Us and We, reffering to God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. In the same way, man is a spirit, soul and body. In the Godhead, we could draw a very simplistic analogy and say that the Holy Spirit is Spirit, the Son is Body and the Father is Soul, although each are separate entities with a spirit, soul or body.

To be out of the body is to be with Christ, and to be in the body is to be with the Church.

This does not mean that there is soul sleep or eternal annihilation and disintegration. This means banishment from life forever. God is life.

It will balk and tremble with fear and trepidation at the risk involved in obeying. Look at Moses at the Red Sea or Joshua at Jericho or Noah with the ark.
