Evaluation Decisions Award a grant in the amount requested Award a grant in a different amount from the requested Decline to make a grant Defer a decision
Considerations Does the proposal request meet the funder’s interests and guidelines Is the applicant agency credible, with a competent board, staff, and/or volunteers Are the applicant ‘s plans feasible How important or compelling is the project Do you or other reviewers have biases Add Comments on Strengths and Weaknesses
Team Assignments Proposals - put your e-mail address on your proposals Critique Sheets - Distribute Meet in Groups Proposals - Distribute
Your Assignment You are a member of a team You will review/critique 3 proposals –Complete one critique sheet per proposal Next week you will meet in groups to compare notes and summarize the individual critiques for 45 minutes You will meet with each proposal writer for 20 minutes.
Next Week Proposal Writer will provide a 5-10 minute review of proposal to group Group will provide 10-15 minute feedback on proposal All individual critique sheets and proposals will be turned in at the end of class The group critique sheet will be given to the proposal writer.
