2. Choose one of the cards below and then concentrate on that card. Do not, under any circumstances, click the card. When you have can remember your card, please click the mouse to advance to the next slide.

3. This is the important part. Tell your computer which card you selected, but be careful to softly whisper its name. Click the mouse to go to the next slide.

4. Look closely at the cards below. We have removed your card from the pile. We hope you enjoyed the trick and that you find our book as interesting as it is useful. (Unfortunately, the text does not explain our mind-reading prowess.)

5. The solution... Look closely at the two groups of cards, which were copied from the slides in the presentation. The cards in each group are completely different, so no matter which card you choose, it will not appear on the last slide.
