2 Lewis Carroll  The name Lewis Carroll came from the original names Lutwidge and Charles  So, his real name isn’t Lewis Carroll, it is Charles Lutwidge Dodgson or Mr. Dodgson

4 Lewis Carroll  Born in 1832  Studied Mathematics  Made the family magazine at a young age  Wrote Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland while teaching at Oxford school in 1865  Often gave books to little girls in the hospital to cheer them up

5 How Alice in Wonderland began  Lewis Carroll was a lecturer in Maths and Logic in Oxford.  Each day he looked out his window to a park where Alice Liddell, the dean’s daughter, and her sisters played.  Occasionally, Lewis, Alice, and her sisters went on boat rides together and Lewis made up stories.  One day, Alice asked to write these stories down.
