3. Brush Techniques Holding the brush: Vertical: Hold the brush perpendicular to the paper (upright) Good for detail, outlines, vertical/horizontal lines Slanted: Hold brush parallel to paper Good for larger shapes Press brush down to start, pull brush off paper to finish the stroke
