BASEBALL You and several of your friends decide to go to a Cardinal baseball game. If tickets cost $23 a piece and parking is $10, write and equation that gives the total cost of your group’s visit to the game as a function of the number of people that are in your group. Find the cost if 4 people attend. Graph the equation.

PHOTO CLUB You are a member to a photo club that allow you to develop 30 photographs each month. You are charged an additional fee for each photo after the first 30. One month you developed 35 photos for a total of $5.80. Another month, you developed 41 photos for $6.82. What is the monthly subscription cost and what is the cost for each additional photo after the first 30? Graph the equation.

GAS PRICES It costs $49.47 for 17 gallons of gas and it costs $81.48 for 28 gallons of gas. Write an equation that gives the cost of gas as a function of the number of gallons of gas you purchase. What is the rate of change? Graph the equation.

GARDENING You would like to make a small flower garden in front of your school. You have budgeted $30 and have determined that you will purchase marigolds at $0.79 per plant and petunias at $0.89 per plant. Write an equation in that models the possible combinations of marigolds and petunias. List 4 possible combinations. Graph the equation.

ANSWERS 1.C = 23t + 10; $102 2.C =.17p + 4.95; $4.95 per month, $0.17 per photo over 30. 3.C = 2.91g; $2.91 per gallon 4..79m +.89p = 30
