3 3 LQF Mission Statement The Louisiana Quality Foundation is a non-profit organization of dedicated professional volunteers, which strives to assist Louisiana organizations to achieve performance excellence so as to gain competitive advantages.

6 6 The LPEA Program Presented annually by the Governor of LA. Award created by private sector professionals and LA Dept of Economic Development. Goal is to help LA organizations by: Providing tools that lead to improvement of overall organizational effectiveness and capabilities Foster organizational and personal learning

7 7 7 Evaluation Criteria Categories Based on the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Program Performance Excellence Criteria Leadership Strategic Planning Customer & Market Focus Measurement, Analysis and Knowledge Management Workforce Focus Process Management Business Results Categories: Business Education Health Care

8 8 The MBNQA Program A National Performance Excellence Award Program Administered by the US Department of Commerce. MBNQA is the LPEA model!

9 9 A National Model - MBNQA Program Presented annually by the President of the United States. The Award is named for Malcolm Baldrige - Secretary of Commerce from 1981 - 1987. Created by President Reagan Became Public Law 100-107. Most state/local programs use MBNQA criteria.

10 10 Public Law 100-107 Concept of quality improvement directly applicable to small and large companies, to service industries & manufacturing, and public sector & private enterprise.
