2. Background  Purpose to promote the development of Supportive Housing/and or Supportive Services to homeless veterans. Partnerships with Non-profits or local government organizations. Supported housing (up to 24 months) or Service Centers.

4. Background  Grant opportunities are offered annually (as funding permits).  FY 05- 290 Operational Programs with almost 8,000 beds; Over 16,000 admissions (NEPEC, 2006).

9. Special Initiatives  Special Needs Grants Authorized by P.L. 107-95; to provide funding to assist both non-profit organizations and VA medical Centers address the needs of special populations of homeless veterans: (3 year funding)

10. Special Needs Grants Chronically mentally Ill  16 programs: $10,705,026 with 305 beds Women, including Women with children  8 programs: $2,739,838 with 112 beds Frail Elderly  3 programs: $1,523,004 with 51 beds Terminally Ill  2 programs: $709,523 with 17 beds
