What are Sensory Words? 1. What does Sensory Mean? 2. What are the 5 Senses? 3. Name 1 sensory word for each of the senses. 4. Write a sentence to describe the picture. Please copy down these questions and answer them as best as you can. This will be collected at the end of class!! Just try your best!! DO NOW
Smell aroma, burnt, fragrant, moldy, musty, odor, odorless, perfumed, piney, pungent, putrid, pungent, rancid, rank, redolent, reeking, scent, scented, smell, sour, salty, spicy, stagnant, sweet, waft, whiff Many of the Smell and Taste words will be the same!!
Write down what sensory word is shown in each sentence: 1. The spilt milk around the dumpsters on garbage day is rancid. 2. Today the air has a balmy imprint. 3. The red of the roses was so aggressively vivid that it almost hurt to look at them. 4. The strawberries were so luscious that I was led to believe they were just picked. 5. “Can I go outside now!”, shrieked the little boy.
Group Work Each student is given a post it note that looks like this: The numbers on the left are the chapters you will be using to search and the sense on the right is the one you are looking for. Please write down a sentence that has the sensory word in it for the sense on your post-it. Also write the page number your sentence was on.
