1 Increasing Signs (Matt. 24: 7 - 8) “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earth quakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.” Jesus simply identifies things that will be evident as the end of this age nears. 2 Hebrews 12:22-28 refers to the change and transition coming to the world. We must never forget that the earth and all that is within belongs to our righteous Creator. 4 Earthly Life is Temporary “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears then you also will appear with him in Glory.” (Col. 3: 2-4) God often allows things to shake in order to loosen our grip on earth. 5 Only One Thing Will Remain “Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our ‘God is a consuming fire’ ”.
