3 Martin Kuba ministr průmyslu a obchodu 1 ROK NOVÉ EXPORT STRATEGY 3 IMPLEMENTATION OF THE EXPORT STRATEGY Czech Export Improvement in 2012 The Czech Republic showed its highest trade surplus ever CZK 310 bn Total exports were up by 6.4% y/y Total 2012 exports were CZK 3 bn Exports to priority countries and countries of interest were up by 20% y/y The share of priority countries and countries of interest in total exports rose from 14.8% to 16.8% Exports to priority countries in 2012 amounted to CZK 340 bn Exports to countries of interest in 2012 amounted to CZK 173 bn With an overall increase, the share of the EU in exports declined from 83% to 80.8% Record- breaking foreign trade performance Successful diversifi- cation of Czech exports THE 1 ST YEAR OF THE NEW EXPORT STRATEGY Minister of Industry and Trade

12 Martin Kuba ministr průmyslu a obchodu 1 ROK NOVÉ EXPORT STRATEGY 12 IMPLEMENTATION OF KEY STRATEGIES IN 2013 Specific Form of Promoting Exports by the State Marketing Support Abroad THE CZECH REPUBLIC’S OFFICIAL PARTICIPATIONS SPECIALISED EXHIBITIONS AND TRADE SHOWS PROJECT FOREIGN EVENTS HELD BY CZECHTRADE Czech official participations in 2013 Number: 32 trade shows, three quarters of them are held in priority countries and countries of interest (two thirds in priority countries alone) Czech official participations in 2012 Number: 30 trade shows, more than a half of them were held in priority countries, 352 participants 65 foreign events organised in : CZK 235 m will be used for organising 90 events, with 1,260 participants (180 large enterprises) supported : CZK 611 m used for the support of 186 events, with 2,833 participants THE 1 ST YEAR OF THE NEW EXPORT STRATEGY Minister of Industry and Trade

13 Martin Kuba ministr průmyslu a obchodu 1 ROK NOVÉ EXPORT STRATEGY 13 IMPLEMENTATION OF KEY STRATEGIES IN 2013 Merger of CzechTrade and CzechInvest  Creation of an institution that provides services in promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, investment and exports in one place Dissolution of CzechTrade Dissolution as of 31 December 2013 CzechTrade as a brand will be maintained and integrated as part of the transfer of the remaining agenda under CzechInvest as a division Selected agendas have already been transferred to the MIT under the network of foreign offices Change to the status of CzechInvest Reorganisation and addition of export-led activities – on an ongoing basis from March 2013 to December 2013 Launch of a competition to find a director general. The new director general will be responsible for the implementation of merging the agencies, interlinking their agendas, centralising services and eliminating duplicities Single institution Optimisation of services for entrepreneurs as concerns exports, investment incentives and promoting entrepreneurship and innovation in one place Reduction in the number of managers and reduction in the staff headcount of the merged CzechInvest and CzechTrade agencies by 25% vis-à-vis the original staff headcount of both agencies THE 1 ST YEAR OF THE NEW EXPORT STRATEGY Minister of Industry and Trade

14 Martin Kuba ministr průmyslu a obchodu 1 ROK NOVÉ EXPORT STRATEGY 14 IMPLEMENTATION OF KEY STRATEGIES IN 2013 Merger of CzechTrade and CzechInvest Owing to the streamlined performance of state administration, use of synergies and reinforcement of services for entrepreneurs, the MIT will support the competitiveness of the Czech economy to a much greater extent. Provision of comprehensive services for businesses in promoting entrepreneurship, innovation, investment and exports in one place, review of the agendas in place, preservation of quality and successful services of both agencies, preparation of new synergistic services. There will be a close interlink with the entire merged network of MIT foreign representations – up to 70 representations to promote exports as well as investment inflow to the Czech economy are envisaged for the future. 16 Martin Kuba ministr průmyslu a obchodu 1 ROK NOVÉ EXPORT STRATEGY 16 IMPLEMENTATION OF KEY STRATEGIES IN 2013 Merger of CzechTrade and CzechInvest Organisational Structure CZECHINVEST STRUCTURAL FUNDS DIVISION INTERNAL AFFAIRS DIVISION CZECHTRADE EXPORT DIVISION INVESTMENT DIVISION With a view to the existing excellent results of drawing funds from the Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovation (OPEI), the role as an implementation agency will be maintained for under the Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovation for Competitiveness Efficient cost optimisation, greater emphasis on internal controls and reporting, use of central purchasing with MIT and optimisation of supplementary activities A new export policy strategy, able to react flexibly to market developments Creation of a network of one- stop-shop offices for exports and investment, using the existing network of 13 regional info-points Close interlink with the unified network of MIT trade missions Preservation of the provision of services and their adaptation to the primary strategy, based on territorial, sectoral and trend aspects THE 1 ST YEAR OF THE NEW EXPORT STRATEGY Minister of Industry and Trade

18 Martin Kuba ministr průmyslu a obchodu 1 ROK NOVÉ EXPORT STRATEGY 18 IMPLEMENTATION OF EXPORT STRATEGY Action Plan Implementation – Global Diversification of Exports 12 priority countries (PC) have been defined; expert teams and action plans have been created for them 26 countries of interest (CoI) have been defined Policy activities in relation to export territories Interactive country profiles have been prepared (PC and CoI, as well as other selected countries) – at portal BusinessInfo.cz Communication with business community 16 missions to non-EU countries have taken place (7 PC, 1 CoI), participation of some 400 Czech businesses New instruments to evaluate and coordinate missions have been created Business missions accompanied by top representatives of the Czech Republic Official participation of the Czech Republic in 30 trade shows (more than a half being PC) for 352 Czech businesses Participation in specialised trade shows and exhibitions included 73 events (26 PC) for 1,050 businesses Promoting the participation of businesses in foreign trade shows 24 meetings of mixed bodies have taken place (8 PC, 3 CoI), participation of 500 representatives of Czech businesses Meetings of Mixed Committees, Commissions and Workgroups 73 events have taken place (26 PC, 12 CoI), participation of 2,000 representatives of Czech businesses Territorial meetings, seminars, business forums and technology days THE 1 ST YEAR OF THE NEW EXPORT STRATEGY Minister of Industry and Trade
