Qobiljon Yunusov -Derivatives Lectures and Tutorials -Fixed Income - Lectures Management and Project Pre-Finance Consultant A recent banking risk professional I started my career in London, UK Master’s degree from London Metropolitan University in 2007 A former participant of US Undergraduate exchange programme

You want to do your Master’s degree in UK and get work experience there? Master’s is easy but how hard is it to get a career job at a London bank? The year I got job offer (2007), 150 graduates were hired out of 11,500 applicants at Barclays Corporate bank. Success rate: 1.3% In 2013, they hired 150 out of 20,000 job applicants. So the success rate fell to 0.8%. YOU HAVE TO BE VERY VERY GOOD. AND YOU CAN BE! BUT DISCIPLINE IS KEY! PS: Ways to gain valuable corporate work experience which I can share with you

London’s Canary Wharf bird’s view

Why did I come back to Uzbekistan? Long answer: it is complicated and I won’t tell you Short answer: It is all about opportunities in career and life. Location is not important if you know what you want to do and you are good at doing it. Will you leave Uzbekistan again and why? Long answer: &%12$£”&%^&*%*&$^%” Short answer: probably YES

What I like: When you show respect, I respect you too Quiet environment to give practical knowledge When you show interest in important concepts When we discuss ideas and events, not people How I may reward you: Provide support for your exam revisions Guide you in research activity you may be interested in Involve you in my own projects

What I do NOT like: When you talk non-stop with others, make noise or laugh blatantly Students sharing something on mobile devices or laptops during the class When you interrupt me during a lecture Actions I may take: Mark you absent Kick you out of the class and mark you absent No help whatsoever with your exam preparation

Time will pass, but will you….?? Statement written in an Examination Room

A FEW OTHER THINGS

A linguistics professor was lecturing his class one day. 'In English', he said, 'A double negative forms a positive. In some languages, though, such as Russian, a double negative is still a negative. However, there is no language wherein a double positive can form a negative.' A loud voice from the back of the room piped out, 'Yeah, right.' Sarcasm

Teacher: “What's further away, America or the Moon?" Student: "America!" Teacher: "America? Whatever gave you that idea?" Student: "Simple, we can always see the moon from Uzbekistan, but not America!" Don’t be a smartass, it is counterproductive

Teacher: "Sam, what is the outside of a tree called?" Sam: "I don’t know." Teacher: "Bark, Sam, bark." Sam: "Bow, wow, wow!" Hint: Bark means «увилламок» BUT it also means «дарахт пустлоги» I did not come here to teach you English …

Teacher : What is the full form of Maths? Student : Mentally Affected Teachers Harassing Students Did not come here to teach you MATHS …
