7 Use Great Tools

8 Why Take Tests??? As you watched the video, you learned about the many ways that the EXPLORE test can help you prepare and plan for College and Careers. Passing the spring reading test that you take in 8 th grade will determine whether or not you will be able To get your driver’s permit. Some Summer Academies and other programs, like Tulsa Tech’s Engineering Program for 9 th graders, and even sports, utilize test scores in determining who gets into competitive programs. Middle school tests are a chance for students to demonstrate what they know and determine what they need to improve.

9 Final Steps to Prepare Locate your “Why Take Explore” form. Write the date that we’ll be testing, Monday, October 15, 2013, and take the form home to share with your families. The day of the test: be rested, have breakfast, be on time, wear your ID, bring three sharp No.2 pencils, a watch, and a calculator.

10 What should I do now? Always do your best! Attend school regularly- you learn best when you are here! Utilize the websites on the next page to plan and set goals!
