READ:2 KINGS 8:7-12 7Then Elisha went to Damascus, and Ben-Hadad king of Syria was sick; and it was told him, saying, "The man of God has come here.“ 8And the king said to Hazael, "Take a present in your hand, and go to meet the man of God, and inquire of the LORD by him, saying, 'Shall I recover from this disease?'“ 9So Hazael went to meet him and took a present with him, of every good thing of Damascus, forty camel-loads; and he came and stood before him, and said, "Your son Ben-Hadad king of Syria has sent me to you, saying, 'Shall I recover from this disease?'" 10And Elisha said to him, "Go, say to him, 'You shall certainly recover.' However the LORD has shown me that he will really die.“ 11Then he set his countenance in a stare until he was ashamed; and the man of God wept. 12And Hazael said, "Why is my lord weeping?“ He answered, "Because I know the evil that you will do to the children of Israel: Their strongholds you will set on fire, and their young men you will kill with the sword; and you will dash their children, and rip open their women with child." HOW DID DANIEL MAINTAIN HIS INTEGRITY? ‘HE PRAYED TO THE LORD DAILY’ READ:DANIEL 6:10 10Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went home. And in his upper room, with his windows open toward Jerusalem, he knelt down on his knees three times that day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as was his custom since early days.

22 QUESTIONS:ISAIAH 38:4-6 HOW SOON DID THE LORD RESPOND TO DANIEL’S PRAYER? ‘WHILE I WAS SPEAKING IN PRAYER’ READ:DANIEL 9:20-21 20Now while I was speaking, praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy mountain of my God, 21yes, while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, reached me about the time of the evening offering. WHY DID THE LORD RESPOND SO QUICKLY? ‘YOU ARE GREATLY BELOVED’ READ:DANIEL 9:22-23 22And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, "O Daniel, I have now come forth to give you skill to understand. 23At the beginning of your supplications the command went out, and I have come to tell you, for you are greatly beloved; therefore consider the matter, and understand the vision: NKJV

23 QUESTIONS:ISAIAH 38:4-6 5"Go and tell Hezekiah, 'Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father: "I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will add to your days fifteen years. 6I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria, and I will defend this city."‘ WHY WILL THE LORD DEFEND JERUSALEM? ‘FOR MY OWN SAKE & MY SERVANT DAVID’S SAKE’ READ:2 KINGS 20:6 6And I will add to your days fifteen years. I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city for My own sake, and for the sake of My servant David."'" 24 READ:ISAIAH 38:7-8 7And this is the sign to you from the LORD, that the LORD will do this thing which He has spoken: 8Behold, I will bring the shadow on the sundial, which has gone down with the sun on the sundial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward." So the sun returned ten degrees on the dial by which it had gone down.

25 QUESTIONS:ISAIAH 38:7-8 7And this is the sign to you from the LORD, that the LORD will do this thing which He has spoken: 8Behold, I will bring the shadow on the sundial, which has gone down with the sun on the sundial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward." So the sun returned ten degrees on the dial by which it had gone down. WHY DID THE LORD GIVE HEZEKIAH A SIGN? READ: 2 KINGS 20:8-11 8And Hezekiah said to Isaiah, "What is the sign that the LORD will heal me, and that I shall go up to the house of the LORD the third day?" 9Then Isaiah said, "This is the sign to you from the LORD, that the LORD will do the thing which He has spoken: shall the shadow go forward ten degrees or go backward ten degrees?" 10And Hezekiah answered, "It is an easy thing for the shadow to go down ten degrees; no, but let the shadow go backward ten degrees." 11So Isaiah the prophet cried out to the LORD, and He brought the shadow ten degrees backward, by which it had gone down on the sundial of Ahaz. NKJV

26 WHAT DID JOSHUA DO? 8Behold, I will bring the shadow on the sundial, which has gone down with the sun on the sundial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward." So the sun returned ten degrees on the dial by which it had gone down. WHAT SIGN DID THE LORD GIVE HEZEKIAH? WHAT WAS THE EFFECT OF MOVING IT BACKWARD? WHAT SIGN DID JOSHUA GIVE THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL? ‘THE SUN STOOD STILL & THE MOON STOPPED’ READ:JOSHUA 10:12-14 12Then Joshua spoke to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel: "Sun, stand still over Gibeon; And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon." 13So the sun stood still, And the moon stopped, Till the people had revenge Upon their enemies. Is this not written in the Book of Jasher? So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day. 14And there has been no day like that, before it or after it, that the LORD heeded the voice of a man; for the LORD fought for Israel.

MAN’S LIFE IS BUT A VAPOR READ:PSALMS 39:5 5Indeed, You have made my days as handbreadths, And my age is as nothing before You; Certainly every man at his best state is but vapor. WHAT WAS HEZEKIAH’S CONCERN ABOUT DYING? ‘I WILL NOT SEE YAH IN THE LAND OF THE LIVING’ WHAT DID DAVID SAY ABOUT THE LAND OF THE LIVING? I WOULD SEE THE GOODNESS OF THE LORD READ:PSALMS 27:13 13I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living. READ:PSALMS 34:11-14 11Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. 12Who is the man who desires life, And loves many days, that he may see good? 13Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit. 14Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it. 34 READ:ISAIAH 38:12-14 12My life span is gone, Taken from me like a shepherd's tent; I have cut off my life like a weaver. He cuts me off from the loom; From day until night You make an end of me. 13I have considered until morning — Like a lion, So He breaks all my bones; From day until night You make an end of me. 14Like a crane or a swallow, so I chattered; I mourned like a dove; My eyes fail from looking upward. O LORD, I am oppressed; Undertake for me!
